Observe New Mexico Elections

Application for November 2024

The November general election is just around the corner! Would you like to help ensure that New Mexicans participate in an election process that people of all political backgrounds can trust?

Observe New Mexico Elections, funded by The Carter Center, is a nonpartisan observation effort designed to increase trust and transparency in elections. Led by and for New Mexicans, observers will be trained about relevant laws, procedures and safeguards in New Mexico’s electoral process and verify that those procedures are  consistently  followed.  Nonpartisan election observers represent all voters, do not interfere in the election process and report what they see.  Observers’ findings throughout the state will be aggregated to assess the quality of elections in New Mexico. Observers will receive stipends for participation, travel and reasonable expenses.

The Carter Center has led similar efforts internationally for decades and is ready to implement its globally recognized approaches here at home. We are honored New Mexico was among the handful of states they selected to participate this year.

If you would like to support  election trust and transparency in your county in October and November 2024, please fill out this form below.  We need observers from all 33 counties in our state.

There is a small stipend for trainings and observation. For additional information, contact info@observenmelections.org.
